To say we value creativity here at GG is an understatement. We’re always on the hunt for the next boost of inspiration. While we might not understand a lot of what “younger” generations are into (hello, I still don’t get TikTok), there are some artists out there who are emerging as some seriously inspiring creatives. I don’t know about you, but I was a dummy when I was in my early twenties, so to see people at that same age developing such creative skills is truly inspiring. Here are just a few of the amazing young artists we’re following these days.
Mónica Hernández // 25 // NYC
Painter Mónica Hernández creates incredible works of art that are packed full of color and movement. On her IG, you’ll find snippets of her daily life along with her various works in progress.

Gigi Goode // 22 // Los Angeles
Don’t tell me drag isn’t art, because it’s one of the highest forms. If you don’t know Gigi Goode, you should get them on your radar. Gigi is a drag queen, but also an incredible fashion designer and artist. In this image, they used a pair of Sharpies to create this entire scene, not to mention designing and sewing their outfit and “painting” their face, as it’s known in the drag community.

Alja Horvat // 24 // Maribor, Slovenia
Alja has been on my radar for awhile now, and I have multiple pieces by her in my home. Her illustrations and designs are feminine, colorful and undeniably fun. You’ve likely seen her work at Society6, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and more.

Melek Zertal // 24 // Oakland, CA & Paris
Melek is a young contemporary artist who spends her time between Oakland and Paris. Her IG bio is my favorite, “trashing men one comic at a time,” but she doesn’t hold back on anyone, including the fashion industry. Her work is sharp, funny and delightfully wicked.

Carlota Guerrero // 26 // Barcelona
As far as accomplishments go, being the photographer behind an infamous album shoot (hello, Solangeeee!) before turning 30 is pretty stellar. Since her work with Solange, she’s followed up with numerous high-profile editorial shoots and a collaboration with Rupi Kaur, for The Sun and Her Flowers.

Jada The Kid // Washington, D.C.
Jada is an oil painter from Maryland with an incredible knack for hyper-realistic paintings. Her portraits of everyone from celebrities to custom commissions are beyond amazing. And then take into account the fact that she has only been painting since 2018 and your mind will be blown.
