A Sparkling Rose + Lemon Gin Cocktail

Hi, spring! So happy to see you! Nothing says springtime to me more than daisies and roses. You can’t eat daisies though, so we’re swapping it for chamomile in this tasty (and pretty!) spring cocktail. Don’t worry, you can get everything you need at Trader Joe’s and it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

what you’ll need:

for the rose syrup:

for the cocktail:

  • 1 1/2 ounce gin
  • 1 ounce rose syrup (or rose water if you don’t want to make syrup)
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water
  • 1 lemon, juiced plus more for garnish
  • optional – chamomile flowers for garnish and pomegranate juice for color

How to:

  1. Add water, sugar and rosebuds to a small saucepan over medium heat. Once the mixture starts to simmer, turn heat down to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes or until it starts to thicken. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Strain the mixture and discard the rosebuds. Store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to use.
  2. Add syrup, gin and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake until combined, then pour into a glass.
  3. Top the glass off with sparkling water or lemonade.
  4. Garnish with a lemon slice and chamomile flowers.
  5. Enjoy!

Cheers!
