7 Books To Add To Your Reading List This July

Anyone else like to sunbathe in their backyard with a good book? Just one of the many things that I’m looking forward to this month. These seven new books are perfect for lounging back, or just finding some simple inspiration.

  1. Not a Happy Family: A Novel by Shari Lapena: Lapena gifts us a family saga that keeps you guessing. When your family if full of secrets, you’re only bound to get caught between a family member and someone’s revenge plot against them.
  2. While We Were Dating by Jasmine Guillory: In the name of rom-coms, you’ll want to devour Guillory’s light-hearted banter and Korean-drama levels of emotional character dilemmas.
  3. Makan: Recipes from the Heart of Singapore by Elizabeth Haigh: Haigh flawlessly blends her Singaporean-British heritage and storytelling through delightful dishes. From Miso apple pie to pickled watermelon and radish salad, tradition meets West in each recipe boasting ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.
  4. Beautifully Organized at Work: Bring Order and Joy to Your Work Life So You Can Stay Calm, Relieve Stress, and Get More Done Each Day by Nikki Boyd: OK, I clearly get off on anything organizational-centric, so when Nikki Boyd of At Home With Nikki released a new book, I rose up. I am always trying to keep my home office organized, but have fun playing with systems.
  5. Such a Quiet Place: A Novel by Megan Miranda: A murder tears a quaint community apart, but what happens when the one that you accused returns home to that same community? Miranda keeps us spinning with a slew of twists.
  6. The Paper Palace: A Novel by Miranda Cowley Heller: How fitting that this story takes place during a wicked summer! Elle’s love, loss and tragedies are all unveiled in her family’s summer home, reminding us that places often host old ghosts of our own.
  7. Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead: A Novel by Emily Austin: A morbidly anxious and atheist protagonist working at a Catholic Church becomes obsessed with the death of her predecessor, however, uncovering the mystery becomes just as important and concealing her true identity from her employers.
