I’ve been completely enamored with Ingrid Emaga’s photography for awhile now. Her unique style of film photography has an almost haunting quality to its beauty. While many photographers are caught up in the digital age, Ingrid sticks with her love of film and an appreciation of the classic quality the process brings. I’ve been especially taken by her series of quarantine self-portraits, my favorite of which you can purchase through her Etsy shop. I got a chance to interview Ingrid on life in Barcelona, her creative inspiration and her favorite vegan must-haves.

Can you start by telling us a little bit about yourself?
I am Ingrid Emaga Mba, a photographer living in Spain.
We are in love with your photography. How would you describe your style?
I would describe the style as powerful and beautiful.
You shoot mostly with film, correct? What do you love about film photography versus digital?
Yes, I like to use analog because I have to wait to see the result. It gives me that old feeling, the sound of the camera.

What does a typical day look like for you?
I usually have a nice breakfast before working on my new project. I’m currently making an African mask. That is followed by a big lunch, and if I have time, I go to skate. Then I work a little bit more.
