Beauty Goals I Will Be Trying Out This Month

Yes, it’s March, but I believe resolutions can be set any time of the year. Now is the perfect time of year to set beauty goals with a positive focus. 2018 has taught me that I need to put a focus on my own wellbeing. I’ve always loved my beauty and skincare routines, and more often than not, align them with my self-care.

Here are some beauty goals that I’m trying out this month!

Embracing the Skin I’m In

Any time I’ve had a skin problem, the way I solve it is by attempting to hide it altogether. Most of my skin issues can be covered by a good full-coverage foundation, which used to be my go-to. However, earlier this year, I moved to Cincinnati and something about the dehydrating water took a toll on my skin. I broke out like crazy and dealt with really sensitive, very dry skin.

This month, I’m done with covering up with foundation and concealer and calling it a day. I’ve learned to revamp my entire skincare routine to focus on all of my trouble areas over time. I’ve even been going makeup-free most days, which I would have never done even a year ago.

No More Comparisons

The comparison game is a dangerous one. I’m sure many of you can relate to laying in bed while scrolling through Instagram and thinking about how perfect some of these ladies seemed. I couldn’t help but think that I needed to be skinnier, or prettier. Point blank, I felt awful.

Well, this month I’m done playing that awful comparison game. You should be, too! Instead, I’m only following people that inspire positivity.

Shaking Things Up

I’m used to being a slave to my routines. It wasn’t necessarily about what works, but more about the things that I’ve just always done. Well, that’s done and over with this month. I’m all about trying new things and saying ‘yes’ to as much as I can.

I am treating my skin and myself with kindness, and a big part of this is about discovering new things for me. I’ll be treating myself to new beauty and skincare products that bring me joy.

Incorporating Some Wellness

My skincare routine has definitely become a major part of my self-care routine. It deeply relaxes me and helps me unwind now matter what kind of day I’ve had. Out with the harsh treatments, and in with the good.

I have become a major fan of aromatherapy and humidifiers within the last couple of months. I have been using the GuruNanda Moist Aroma 2 in 1 Humidifier Diffuser Tower, and I have to say this is one of my most used wellness/beauty products. I like to use aromatherapy while I work to get my creative juices flowing. I blast this in my face while doing my makeup for extra hydration.
