I absolutely love beauty products! I am constantly buying the latest releases, but I have to admit that my beauty habit gets very expensive. The industry as a whole has grown tremendously over the last few years. There’s a constant influx of brands coming our way at every price point.
One of my favorite things about being surrounded by all of these new products and brands is being able to compare
Here are some of our favorite beauty dupes:
- Tatcha The Silk Canvas Primer ($52) vs. E.L.F. Poreless Putty Primer ($8): There’s a reason that both of these primers are constantly sold out. Given the price tag, The Silk Canvas uses high-end ingredients in its formula that makes it so expensive. However, even beauty mogul Jeffree Star put these two primers to the test, and he was pleasantly surprised by the similarities.
- Glossier Boy Brow ($16) vs. Essence Make Me Brow ($2.99): Both of these products were made with the consumer in mind. They are very forgiving, and perfect for all kinds of brows. They fill and help to shape brows, but at very different prices.
- Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation ($64) vs. Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation ($10.99): The Maestro Foundation is known for the very full, comfortable coverage that it provides in a buildable formula. Catrice has done the same but at a very different price point.
- Beautyblender ($20) vs. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge ($5.99): The Beautyblender started it all, and has had many different copycats that just couldn’t duplicate the effects. However, the Real Techniques Sponge takes the cake in dupes. It is very affordable and delivers virtually the same results.
- Tarte Shape Tape ($27) vs. E.L.F. 16hr Camo Concealer ($5): Just like Tarte’s famous Shape Tape was flying off the shelves when it first debuted, it seems that E.L.F. has had the same effect with its latest release. The packaging is very similar, and so are the formulas. They both offer full, matte coverage in various colors.
- Nars Blush in Orgasm ($30) vs. Milani Baked Powder Blush in Luminoso ($6.99): A high-end cult classic against…a drugstore cult classic. These two products and shades have everyone raving, but at this point, it really is all about how much you’d rather spend.
- Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($24) vs. L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara ($6.49): No one could nail down a similar, flawless lash look like Too Faced did with its Better Than Sex Mascara. That is until Lash Paradise stormed onto the scene for less than half the price.
- Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer ($30) vs. Physician’s Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer ($6.99): Both products come in various shades, and deliver long-lasting results. However,
the Butter Bronzer is not only cheaper, but it smells like a tropical paradise. - BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector ($38) vs. Wet N Wild MegaGlo Highlighter ($2.50): BECCA was definitely my go-to when it came down to highlighters. The pigmentation seemed unbeatable. That is until Wet N Wild launched its own line. You could buy every shade and still make out less than one highlighter from BECCA.
- Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39) vs. Airspun Loose Powder ($5.99): Bake, set, blot and everything in between, with these powders. The formulas are hard to tell apart, and both feel silky smooth in the end.
- Kat Von D. Liquid Lipsticks ($20) vs. NYX Lip Lingerie ($7): When it comes to liquid lipstick and nude colors, Kat Von D. always hits it out of the park. Her unique color range is very similar to NYX, and its Lip Lingerie is one of the best liquid lipstick formulas in the market.
- Tatcha Luminous Dewy Spray ($48) vs MyChelle Ultra Hyaluronic Beauty Mist ($18): I like to go really heavy when it comes to spraying my face. And because of the high price tag, I tend to be greedy with my Tatcha Luminous Dewy Spray. However, I recently tried the MyChelle facial spray, and I have to say it works wonderfully on my dry skin. Just like it’s
expensive counterpart, it is a very hydrating spray. The packaging may not be as pretty, but the effects sure are. - Sephora Collection The Primer Mask ($6) vs Leaders Cosmetics Hello Moisture Glow Primer Mask ($3): Not only is the Leaders Cosmetics mask half the price, but they also have four different concentrated primer formulas. I love sheet masks, and this has become my new favorite way to prime when I have the time.
