I’ve never been one to shy away from a big hair change. I always say that I never want to look the same for long. I’m all about coloring my hair a punchy color, or letting it grow out only to chop it all off. Most recently, I decided to not only chop my locks off into a long bob, but to also make my naturally black hair a light brown/dark blonde.
Three bleach sessions and countless toners and color additives later, you can bet that my hair was overly processed and completely damaged. Let’s just say, I didn’t wait the proper amount of time between bleach sessions and just totally went over the top with color.
Thankfully, I still have a full head of hair. And thanks to these products saving me and making my hair look and feel great, I’ll be continuing my color exploration throughout the summer.
I’ve been using Olaplex for years, and I have to say that this salon formula is powerful and really gets the job done. It’s earned the self-given label of ‘hair perfector.’
Gliss Fiber Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner
My regular shampoo and conditioner were not cutting it. I needed a formula specifically for my damaged hair to help reconstruct and add moisture. This stuff helped nourish my hair with every wash.
Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque
Using this mask once a week made a huge difference in my hair’s health and moisture. It didn’t weigh down my natural volume and left my hair so soft.
Colored hair depends on a good dry shampoo. I tried not to wash my hair as much as possible because with every wash goes your color. And since I went toward an ashy color, it was going to fade much quicker. I’d apply this stuff to my roots at night and wake up not needing to wash my hair.
Overtone Vibrant Silver Complete System
I let my hair get super orange from the ashy color washing out for about a month. I was so scared that another coloring session would destroy my already fragile strands. That is until I heard about the non-damaging formula! The color results are so beautiful, the smell is intoxicating and the formula works so quick. I use the mask on dry hair to deposit as much color as possible. And every week or so, I use the daily conditioner to deposit some extra ashy color into my hair in minutes. I’ll never go back to regular dye.
I’ll take any great multitasking product over a series of good ones. I really hate having to do more than I actually have to. This stuff smells divine and keeps your hair soft while it air-dries.
I absolutely love this stuff for heat protection. I usually let my hair air-dry to prevent any additional damage, but sometimes I like to add some waves if I’m going out. I like to use this not just when drying my hair, but also when I use a flat iron or curling iron.
Speaking of blow drying, I was able to cut that completely out and use a whole new system that has given me my best hair days. I even turned my skeptical sister onto this device. It’s so fast, and I’ve never had frizz-free hair until I tried this. I got so many compliments! Instead of blowing your hair dry, it works like a vacuum, and uses less heat, too.
