8 Books For Daydreamers

As a daydreamer, I love the thrill of immersing myself in a piece of writing that transports me. I look for books to escape—whether it’s a magical tale, a story of hope or essays, and poems about the human experience. I’ve selected a unique collection of eight books that will ignite the dreamer within you.

  1. A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith: This coming-of-age story is about a young girl who uses her imagination and love of reading to escape her life of poverty in the Williamsburg slums of Brooklyn.
  2. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott: The story of the March sister heroines and their journeys for love, independence, success and happiness, is always a treat to read.
  3. James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl: This book reminds me of childhood. It’s such a quirky, magical ride of adventure.
  4. Too Much and Not The Mood by Durga Chew-Bose: A beautiful collection of essays that highlight what it means to be a creative woman today.
  5. M Train by Patti Smith: Smith’s writing is so dreamy and poignant.
  6. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery: With her fiery spirit and huge imagination, Anne reminds us to be true to who we are and never give up!
  7. Heartbreaker by Claudia Dey: This haunting story of secrets and family is told in such a musical, dreamy way. I loved it.
  8. Boy, Snow, Bird by Helen Oyeyemi: A novel that is full of imagination about appearances and the tricky power they hold.
