How To Create A Dreamy Flower Garden When You’re Limited On Space

As a very passionate flower enthusiast, I constantly dream of having rolling hills of flower fields in my backyard. Unfortunately, I’m limited on space here in San Diego, so that means I have to get creative. What I’ve found throughout my entire adulthood of apartments, houses with small backyards, houses with no backyards, is you don’t have to have a ton of space to create a dreamy flower garden.

Raised Bed

If you don’t have a yard for planting, raised beds are a great option for your flower garden. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes so you can find one to fit your layout perfectly.

Potted Flower Garden

Potted flower gardens can be the perfect solution for balconies, decks and the front porch. It’s also a great way to mix up the variety of flowers for each season.

Hanging Baskets

If you’re lacking in square footage, go upwards! Hanging baskets can create a beautiful jungle vibe once those roots grab hold and the plants start growing. Morning glory is one of my favorite hanging flowering plants for a dramatic effect.

Go Vertical

You can edge your small-space yard by using a trellis to create a vertical flower garden. Opt for container flower pots or vining varieties that will grow and climb the trellis.

Window Boxes

Window box flower gardens give your home instant cottage charm.
