The Year Of The Mermaid Halloween Party!

Can you believe it’s time for Halloween already? We’re in full party-planning mode over here and we’re officially declaring this Halloween, “The Year of the Mermaid!” This year, we took our inspiration from one of our favorite beverages, SpikedSeltzer, and its trademark mermaid heroine. We decided to celebrate with a few of our favorite ladies, some SpikedSeltzer bubbles and lots of glitter (obviously). Read on to see how we created our mermaid-themed soirée inspired by SpikedSeltzer and how you can throw your own mermaid celebration this Halloween!

Step 1: Pick your mermaid theme.

We decided to go with a “vintage-inspired” mermaid theme for our Halloween dinner party. We took inspiration from the SpikedSeltzer mermaid logo and also the different flavors of the hard seltzer by infusing blue, green and gold throughout the décor.

Picking a theme will make decorating the party so much easier because there is a lot of mermaid stuff out there! We used these beautiful tablewares at our celebration, but you can easily recreate this with paper goods if you want a different option! Add some underwater-inspired florals, and you’re good to go!

We hung dried leaves and baby’s breath from the ceiling to create a “bubble” effect (a little play off SpikedSeltzer’s bubbly drink!). Super easy, and inexpensive!

Doesn’t that look so fun??

Step two: Grab your fellow mermaids!

It’s up to you how literal you want to get with mermaid costumes. We decided to wear our best “mermaid-inspired” looks and do our mermaid makeup once we were all together. I mean, I’ll basically take any opportunity to wear my sequin kimono, but it’s perfect for a mermaid party! Getting ready together definitely makes the party more fun. Don’t forget a yummy beverage!

Step 3: Make it festive.

Make sure to have at least 1-2 group activities! We had a glitter bar where everyone could go and get mermaid-ready when they arrived. Extra glitter is always a good idea. You can also do a photo booth with cute mermaid props. Grab a Polaroid camera and let everyone take some special memories home!

Step 4: Cheers, drink + enjoy.

Mermaids are always more fun in a group. Once you’ve got your mermaid look on point, gather around the table and cheers to the moment with mermaid-themed drinks. SpikedSeltzer makes the perfect bubbly, crisp refreshment for your Halloween celebration.

Step 5: Don’t forget dessert!

It’s just not a party without bubbles and dessert! Bake some mermaid-inspired treats to pair with your SpikedSeltzer beverage, or jazz up store-bought treats with some adorable under-the-sea decorations.

Cheers to The Year of the Mermaid!
