Weekend Trip Ideas You Can Take With Your Bestie

It’s known that as we get older, our relationships with our friends tend to change. You start to realize that you actually need to take time to nourish these relationships that once came so naturally to you. Don’t worry, it’s very normal. Life just tends to get in the way sometimes.

Revive your friendship with a little weekend trip! Taking some time for weekend travel will not only do you some good, but will also strengthen your friendship. You will get to devote some much-needed quality time to your bestie. Between work, family and household chores, it’s so easy to get caught up in a slump.

Grab your best friend and take a weekend all to yourselves!

Take An Explorative Road Trip

The best way to reconnect (and possibly one of the most affordable) could be a road trip with your best friend. If you’re feeling wild and free, or yearning to feel like this, then take some pen to a map…or just download an app like Roadtrippers and take a couple of hours to map out some nearby gems you never got around to exploring. Leave no stone unturned in nearby towns, or travel to the nearest major city and check out all of the museums you’ve been putting off. Road trips are a great way to explore nearby places without going broke.

Fly To A Whole New Land

If you can afford to take a flight somewhere, then bring your best friend along. You can still stick to a decent budget if you travel to a place during its offseason. You can also use Google Flights to track any changes in flight prices as well. However, if you’d rather catch a really good deal, sign up for Travelzoo’s daily emails. You’ll get a bunch of incredible deals sent straight to your inbox on various hotel, flight, vacation and cruise deals. It specializes in last-minute deals, so if you and your bestie don’t mind leaving a short amount of timespan to plan out little details, then adventure surely awaits.

Plan The Perfect Staycation

Not all of us are able to just pick and leave for a weekend—we get it! Maybe you and your bestie have certain responsibilities that will keep you tied to your current location. However, that doesn’t mean you should skip out on all of the fun or bonding time. Why not book a nearby hotel for just the two of you and explore some local flavors you’ve been dying to try? Local tourism is a great way to support your hometown and keep you near your home, while still giving you the vacation feels. If you live in separate towns, you can also plot out separate weekends to introduce one another to your hometowns. You’ll save tons of money, plus you can indulge in all the face masks and homemade cocktails you have time for! Staycations are terribly underrated.

Book That Spa Weekend

Perhaps you’ve been eyeing a spa weekend recently. Why not make it a spa weekend for two? It’s the perfect excuse to relax and really dive into some (most likely much-needed) self-care. Plus, you’ll get a chance to relax with one of your favorite people in the entire world. There are tons of deals for first-timers on sites like Groupon that make a luxurious experience like this affordable as well.

Bring Your Families Together

If you and/or your best friend have kids then this is the perfect opportunity to plan out the ultimate play date. There is no such thing as taking a break when you’re a parent, so why not embrace this and combine your little families for a weekend getaway? It could be the perfect time for you guys to reconnect while also letting each other’s spouses get to know each other better as well. Plus, you won’t feel like you’re missing out on any major moments if you choose to bring your children along. You will end up strengthening not only your friendship, but your group bond as well.

Head To A Relaxing Beach Destination

There is something about going to the beach that just really centers you sometimes. The sun, the sand and the heat usually make for some awesome memories. Beach destinations also call for some truly relaxing moments that you and your bestie may be in desperate need of. Work on your tan and your friendship simultaneously without skipping a beat.
