Family-Friendly Guide To Healdsburg, CA

This past holiday vacation, my family took a few days to stay in one of our favorite cities: Healdsburg, CA. Only 2 hours from home, we venture out to wine country often. While we prefer to go sans kids (wine-tasting is a bit trickier with a 5-year-old and 2-year-old), we sometimes like to to take the whole family since it’s an easy trip and a beautiful town for them to enjoy.

We stayed at our favorite Airbnb home, Camp Bailey. We stayed there two years ago for my birthday with some of my friends and their children, which was so fun! While we missed having company this year, it was still super fun to be on the property with just our family.

There are many reasons why we keep returning to this special home. First off, it’s the land. It feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere (which we find quite charming), with rolling vineyards, farm life and plenty of nature to admire. There are so many areas outside to explore and enjoy. Sometimes, after the kids were asleep, I would grab my glass of wine and sit outside with a blanket under the twinkle lights.

When we first arrived, we walked down to the water and said hello to the neighboring goats (the kids thought this was pretty cool). Then we rode scooters around the property while searching for rocks to paint. There is a hot tub for everyone to enjoy, too! The sunrise and sunset are magical and probably my favorite part of the stay.

See below for more details of our stay and what things my family likes to do in Healdsburg.

A key thing I look for in a rental home is a lot of natural night. This home has some great, warm light in the living room.

Don’t we all dream about a huge hutch to store all our ceramics and plates? Love this detail.

Plenty of books to enjoy while cuddled by the fire.

Exploring the grounds with my nature-loving girl.

The massive bean bag in the living room is a huge hit with the kids. They play on it constantly!

Just a quick drive down the street from the home is our favorite market! The Dry Creek General Store is so charming and has delicious food and gifts. During our last stay, we made a killer cheese board from the store and this year, we went for breakfast every morning. The homemade English muffin sandwich was to die for.

Another great spot down the road from this Airbnb is Quivira Vineyards. It is family-friendly with chickens, pigs and lots of produce to check out. I felt inspired to grow our own veggies this year!

A sunset view of the barn down the driveway on the property. My son loved the barn and kept asking where the horses were. There are no horses there, but they can be seen on the drive to the home.

That sunset gets me every time.

We really adore this town and staying at Camp Bailey! I hope you visit and enjoy it, too!
