Ever since Instagram was born, businesses have been stepping up their aesthetic game. Especially in the restaurant and hospitality industry, an Instagrammable aesthetic is becoming a must-have, along with a killer menu. It’s a sign of the times. In order to get extra foot traffic in the door, a pretty interior is a no-brainer. I’m sharing some of my personal favorites that I’ve visited and would happily go to again for the dreamy vibes.
Holy Matcha
San Diego, CA
photos by Amber Thrane
I shared about this pink-hued space in our San Diego city guide, but the matcha haven has recently expanded and opened a second location. The newest spot in East Village is every pink- and terrazzo-lover’s dream.
Jeune et Jolie
Carlsbad, CA

I’m obsessed with this new French restaurant in downtown Carlsbad. My favorite interior design team, Bells & Whistles really outdid themselves with the modern pink interior and attention to details. I can’t remember the last time I actually wanted to move into a bathroom. Everything is perfection, right down to the color-coordinated ceramic dinnerware from Felt + Fat.
Tartine Manufactory
San Francisco, CA

This was the first place Taylor took me when I went to visit her in San Francisco. The entire space is an open, dreamy multi-faceted maker’s space. In addition to the world’s most delicious bread, you can also pop into Heath Ceramics, grab some ice cream and pick up some unique gifts on the way out. You won’t find prettier natural light than here.
Ostrich Farm
Los Angeles, CA

This is one of my favorite LA spots. It has been around since 2014, right around the time restaurants started becoming a popular source of Instagram content. It’s minimal, yet modern, and the food is too good to miss.
Madison on Park
San Diego, CA

This is my go-to brunch spot in San Diego. Not only are the menus amazing and the cocktails perfection, but it’s one of the prettiest spots to eat at in the city. In fact, it’s so pretty you can rent it out and get married there. Also, I love whoever runs its cheeky Instagram account!
Bavel
Los Angeles, CA

If you live in or around LA, you’ve probably been to Bavel. This Middle Eastern restaurant in the Arts District is one of the hottest dining destinations in Southern California. You come for the amazing décor, but stay for the incredible food.
Di An Di
Brooklyn, NY

This Vietnamese restaurant is a must when you’re in New York City. The interior is fresh, bright and contemporary. With a sage green and blush pink theme dotted with mid-century furniture, you won’t want to leave.
Candy Bar
Detroit, MI

You want pink, you say? You want opulence, you say? You’ve got both at Detroit’s most beautiful restaurant, Candy Bar. Inspired by old Hollywood, this plush bar inside the Siren Hotel is too good to miss.
Aviary
Austin, TX

If you’re a lover of wine and bright colors, this Austin spot is definitely your jam. From what used to be a furniture store now resides a community staple and must-see spot to add to your travel list.
