My bathroom recently flooded, destroying every single one of my hair products that I kept under the sink. Hot tools, hair brushes, styling products, all toast. Needless to say, I panicked and went out and replaced all the items I can’t live without. So if you’ve ever wondered what your must-have haircare items are, just drown all of your current products and tools in water and see which ones you immediately miss. Just kidding. Don’t do that.
But as someone who recently had to deal with water-logged haircare, here are my favorite must-have products for 2021.
This is the best hairdryer I’ve ever used. I love all the different airflow and temperature options that make it really customizable. It dries my hair so quickly and feels incredibly soft and never dried out.
CHI Onyx Euroshine Hairstyling Iron
I have really wavy hair naturally, and it gets pretty unruly. I always have bangs that I have to blow dry and flat iron every day otherwise they go super wonky. This flat iron uses onyx ceramic plates, which help straighten and smooth my hair while adding shine. I love the shape of this flat iron because I can use it to straighten or add a beachy bend to my hair.
CHI Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron
When I want to really do it up, I love this curling iron. It helps me create bouncy waves that last for two to three days with no touch-up.
Briogeo Vegan Boar Bristle Hair Brush
I love the benefits of a boar bristle brush, but the vegetarian in me can’t hang with using a real one. This vegan boar bristle brush from Briogeo gives me the same result without sacrificing my love for baby animals.
Slip Pure Silk Skinny Hair Scrunchies
I have fine hair, but I have a lot of it, so I tend to wear it up in a bun a lot of the time, especially at home. I was noticing a lot of breakage with elastic ties, so I switched to these silk scrunchies and immediately noticed the difference.
I’ve been coloring my hair since I was 13, so this product is my lifesaver. I use it once or twice a week before conditioning to help strengthen my treated hair.
I only wash my hair two to three times a week, so I used this leave-in conditioner to add extra moisture to my strands. It never leaves my fine hair feeling weighed down, only soft and nourished.
Kristin Ess Style Assist Blow Dry Mist
When I blow-dry my hair, I always use this blow-dry mist before styling. It cuts down drying time, adds epic shine and protects against heat up to 450 F.
Kiehl’s Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak
When I’m doing some serious self-care or am in need of extra moisture, I always turn to this hair mask. It’s an intense conditioning mask that instantly makes my hair feel restored.
As I mentioned earlier in the post, I have pretty naturally wavy hair that borders on curly. When I let it air dry, it lands somewhere between wavy and frizzy curls, so I love this product for giving it that extra boost. It helps my hair get that perfectly air-dried look without frizz or weighing it down.
Hair perfume is one of those little things I do for myself, even if I’m not going to leave the house all day. It’s just a beautifully delicate fragrance that helps me feel a tiny bit more pulled together.
