Before you know it, it’ll be September, and you’ll be wondering where your summer went. If you haven’t had the opportunity to take a summer vacation, you’re not alone. Even better, it’s not too late! Whether you’re heading back to school, or want to have some last-minute fun with your kids, you deserve a trip.
You can take a last-minute “vacation” with your friends or family this weekend. All you need to is some last-minute planning.
Visit Your Hometown.
Why not take some time to visit some of your favorite places as a kid? You can head back home in style and reminisce with your girlfriends. Travel together, or make plans to meet up with your girlfriends on the same weekend. Plus, your parents and family will love that you chose to spend your final weeks of summer with them. A trip with meaning is a great way end the summer.
Book a Cool Airbnb.
Take a weekend to yourself, or with your significant other in a not-so faraway land. Book an awesome Airbnb in a nearby city for the weekend, and take some time to explore your surroundings. No need for an expensive plane ride. All you need is a car, and some fun locales you want to check out.
Pick a Random Place.
Have you always been curious about that small city a couple of hours away? Make it your next getaway. Do a little research on Thrillist and Yelp, and explore those cool places that your state has to offer. Who says you have to go out of state in order to enjoy a vacation? Get creative and explore your surrounding areas with your girlfriends, or your family.
Finally Visit That Friend.
We all have that one semi-faraway friend that we always say we’ll visit…but then we never do. So, change that! This is the perfect time to make plans to visit. You’ll most likely be able to stay with them, plus get your very own tour guide from an actual local. Visiting friends is a great way to unwind while also fulfilling some wanderlust.
Take a True Staycation.
Forget spending the weekend cleaning and tying up loose ends. Indulge yourself in a true staycation. Book a hotel nearby, completely unplug and take some time to de-stress before the fall bustle begins. Maybe you can finally check out that adorable bed and breakfast that you always drive by.
