Pink Pomegranate Rose Latte

Pink Pomegranate Rose Latte

Beautiful-colored lattes are majorly on trend and for a great reason! They are not only fun to drink but also can be full of nourishing, healthy ingredients…that is depending on if you make them at home or if the café you purchase them from makes them with the proper, good-for-you ingredients. Holistic nutritionist and Glitter Guide contributor, Kara Stout, is sharing a recipe for a pink pomegranate rose latte that is both yummy and gorgeous.

This pretty in pink latte is basically spring in a cup!

It’s dairy-free, caffeine-free and refined sugar-free (and, of course, free of artificial sweeteners). I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk, however, macadamia nut milk or cashew milk would also be amazing.  This homemade latte is also a great source of superfoods, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals due to the pomegranate and beet powders, plus the addition of maca powder if you choose to include that as well.

Pomegranate powder is a great source of vitamins C and K, folate and potassium. It’s also anti-inflammatory and great for the skin. Beet powder provides us with nutrients such as dietary fiber, manganese, magnesium and iron, and can be beneficial for digestion, heart health and improved blood circulation. Maca powder is excellent for energy, vitality and fertility. You can purchase the pomegranate, beet and maca powders online or you can pick them up at Whole Foods.

For that floral touch, I added a hint of rose water and topped each latte with a beautiful variety of edible flowers. You can also sprinkle on some edible rose petals.

This latte recipe is caffeine-free, however, you can certainly add in a shot of good-quality coffee or espresso if you’d like.

Makes:

2 pink lattes

Ingredients:

2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or your favorite nut milk)

3 heaping teaspoons pomegranate powder

2 teaspoons beet powder

1 teaspoon rose water

½ tablespoon raw local honey or liquid Stevia to taste

pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt

optional: 1 teaspoon maca powder

optional: 1 scoop unflavored collagen peptides

Optional Toppings:

Fresh edible flowers or dried edible rose petals

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend well. If you have a Vitamix, you can turn it all the way up to high and blend for 3-4 minutes, making it nice and warm. Or if you have a blender that doesn’t warm up liquids, after blending, just transfer to the stove to heat over low-medium until warm.
  2. Pour into two mugs (because we are sharing, right?).
  3. For a fun option, top with fresh edible flowers or dried edible rose petals!
  4. Cheers to spring!
