5 Apps That Will Help You Get Better Sleep

We’ve all been there, tossing and turning all night hoping to doze off. What’s worse is when your body is exhausted, but your mind just won’t turn off. Maybe you’ve always had a difficult time falling asleep, or maybe this is something new because of the stressful situation we’re all in right now due to the pandemic. Either way, sleep is so important for a number of health- and wellness-related reasons, yet according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 3 adults do not get the recommended hours of sleep each night (the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and Sleep Research Society recommends seven hours per night regularly). Luckily, there are a number of apps available today that help relax the mind and promote healthy sleep patterns and behaviors.

here are five apps to download now

Calm

Calm helps users reduce anxiety, improve sleep and feel happier by focusing on meditation, breathing and relaxation. The app includes breathing programs, nature scenes and sounds, stretching and more.

Headspace

By now, you’ve probably heard of Headspace, which is a guided meditation app. It is ideal for anyone who wants to learn to meditate to reduce anxiety and stress. This app teaches mindfulness, breathing exercises and tips for increased relaxation.

Noisli

Noisli creates the perfect sound environment for relaxing or working. It utilizes the benefits of ambient sounds and peaceful colors to promote relaxation and sleep, and can be used to cut out distracting background noises.

Pzizz

The Pzizz app helps users calm their mind, fall asleep fast, stay asleep and wake up feeling refreshed. Users can set a timer for the length of a sleep session so it plays a soothing dreamscape while they sleep. This app is great for power naps or a good night’s sleep.

Sleep Cycle

Sleep Cycle tracks and analyzes sleep patterns. Users are able to choose their wake up time, and the app then gently wakes them up from sleep so that they wake up feeling rested and ready to start the day.
