Taylor Sterling’s Favorite Podcasts

Podcasts are still all the rage today, and I certainly don’t mind, as I love listening to them. It’s a relief to consume content in a different medium. It seems like everyone is popping up with a new podcast these days, and I enjoy listening to these interviews and stories while achieving my various mundane tasks throughout the day. Each morning, I listen to a podcast on my drive back from the school run and I continue to listen as I get home and tidy the house before work. It’s very therapeutic for me, and my favorite way to start the workday. So many of you ask what my favorite ones are, so here is a list of all my current favorites:

podcasts

Holding Space with Dr. Cassidy Freitas

I had to kick it off with my best friend Cassidy. You may have seen her pop up here over the years. She’s shown us her old home, she’s shown us that crimped hair can still look cool, she’s traveled to Paris, Healdsburg and Ojai with me, but most importantly she’s a super smart and driven marriage and family therapist with an amazing podcast. She covers a range of topics like social activism, relationships, mindfulness, friendship and more!

The Call with Erica Williams Simon

The Call is a new find for us, and ever since we discovered it, we’ve been hooked. Erica interviews many inspiring women and has real, raw conversations with them about perfectionism, representation, hustle, feminism and more.

The Fringe Of It with Liv Purvis & Charlotte Jacklin

If you’re looking for something light and conversational, than Liv and Charlotte’s podcast is perfect. These two British friends sit down and chat about a range of topics, like shopping, fashion, friendship, television and all the things they have been up to. You’ll feel like you’re one of their good friends sitting down to catch up over tea.

Pardon My French with Garance Doré

I mean, who doesn’t love all things Garance Doré? Garance is probably best known for her old street style photos of super stylish women, but she’s now a French powerhouse living in Los Angeles running a successful media company. I love how open and real she is. She talks to many inspiring people about life, work and all things in between.

Second Life by MyDomaine

MyDomaine is one of our favorite lifestyle websites. It covers a range of things like interiors, recipes and business advice. Recently, it came out with this podcast where they talk to inspiring businesswomen about how they changed careers. Being that I did this in my late 20s before launching Glitter Guide, I find these conversations fascinating.

The Lifestyle Edit with Naomi Mdudu

Naomi’s podcast is also a newer one in my lineup. I started listening to it when she had my good friend and fabulous jewelry designer Ariel Gordon on. Her podcast is mainly about running a successful business, but what I love most is how specific Naomi gets with the episodes and her questions are always really insightful.

This American Life

This American Life was probably the first podcast I ever listened to. I used to listen every morning on my commute to my old job back in 2009. They are such beautiful storytellers and really the original podcast powerhouse.

Work Life with Adam Grant

Running a business isn’t easy, especially when it comes to being a boss and growing a team. Adam Grant is an organizational psychologist and he shares his experience working with very successful companies on how to have more productive and happy employees. I love his enthusiasm and advice.

How I Built This with Guy Raz

If you’re looking for great stories with successful business owners, look no further than “How I Built This.” Guy has tons of great interviews with so many well-known business people. It’s so fascinating to hear how they started and the way they run things.

At Home With… by Lily Pebbles & Anna Newton

Lily Pebbles and Anna Newton were two of the first women I ever stumbled across on YouTube 6 years ago. These two British besties create wonderful video and blog content, but they started a podcast last year and it’s one of my favorites. They go inside the homes of women they admire and tour the house while talking about everything from business, motherhood, fashion and more. I really love the casual vibe and having to imagine what the home looks like instead of actually seeing it.
