Here’s What We’re Giving Up And Gaining In 2019

When the New Year rolls around, there’s a lot of chatter about resolutions and goals. And we are all for it! This year, Team Glitter Guide decided to take a different approach to our New Year’s resolutions. We’re splitting it into two parts: What’s something we want to stop doing and something we want to start doing to make 2019 our best year yet. We’d love to hear what you’re going to stop doing and start doing in 2019, as well. Feel free to share with us in the comments!

Taylor

In 2019, I am going to stop putting my fitness last on my list. I will make sure it is a priority 3-4 times a week. I will continue to focus on my wellness overall.

I will start improving my environmentally friendly habits. I want to be a great example for my kids.

This year I’m going to stop ignoring my own self-care for the sake of everyone else. Whether that’s work, family, friends. I read a quote that really stuck with me: You can’t fill the cups of others if your own cup is empty.

I’m going to start making myself a priority and incorporating taking care of myself into my daily schedule. I’m pretty sure the world won’t fall apart if I take time to work out or make some breakfast each day. I really just want to get back to the basics and feel good again.

Evalyn

This year, I’m going to stop going to bed so late because I know going to bed earlier is better for my health and overall energy (and skin!).

This year, I am going to start actually doing the things I say that I want to do because they will bring me more joy and accomplishment, like taking that dance class or painting that painting, for example!

Wendy

This year, I’m going to stop depending on my TV for entertainment. Clearly, there are so many other productive things that I could be doing to fill in this time. I depend on Netflix and Hulu way too much. For 2019, I hope to cut my TV time at least in half.

This year, I’m going to start to get physical again. 2018 was the year of my couch potato-ness. I spent so much time ignoring my physical activity. I want to take my dog out for walks more often and get back into my love of yoga. I relocated to a new city (Cincinnati), so at the top of my list is finding a great yoga studio. It does so much good for not just my body, but also my mind.

Nicole

This year, I’m going to try to stop using as many plastic items when possible (grocery bags, straws, food storage bags and containers, water bottles, etc), and find alternatives that are healthier for me, my family and the environment.

This year, I’m going to start rekindling my love of reading by enjoying a few chapters of a book every evening before I go to sleep.
