Shop Talk: Spark Party

[tps_header]

We love any excuse to get together with our girlfriends. Add the chance to make some extra cash by throwing a chic jewelry party, and we’re sold! Jillian Bremer of Sweet & Spark recently threw together a Spark Party, showing us how simple (and fun!) it is to host such a soirée yourself! Kate Ogata Sparked the party in her adorable San Francisco apartment with flowers from BloomThat, sweet treats from Sift Dessert Bar and mini cans of champagne! Bloggers Nichole CiottiKathleen Murillo and Crystalin Marie all stopped by to enjoy the treats—and to pick up some beautiful pieces for themselves, of course!Sign up to host a Spark Party and you’ll receive a box with all the necessities to throw your own. The host will earn 20% of all pre-tax sales and has the potential to earn an additional 10% for every friend that commits to a future party! Use the extra cash toward party treats (mimosas, anyone?), a new dress, some sparkly jewels—whatever your heart desires!

Your Spark Party box will come filled with:
1. 30-50 assorted jewels from the ’40s–’90s, labeled by decade and with prices. The great thing about vintage is that there’s something for everyone. And most everything is under $100!
2. Easy-to-assemble necklace, earring and bracelet stands!
3. Marketing materials, including: velour pouches for jewelry safekeeping, social media/story cards and free necklace extenders. All of these elements help ensure the perfect gift!
4. A PayPal swiper—set up to collect sales & tax—along with easy-to-use directions!

We only need 7–10 days of advance notice (of course, the earlier, the better)—and you don’t have to commit to becoming a part-time jewelry rep or stylist! Sweet & Spark is the perfect gift for the upcoming holidays.

How did you decide to start Sweet & Spark?
Sweet & Spark started as a lifestyle blog in 2011 as a break from life on the road as an apparel buyer. When the brand I was working for closed, I decided to take some time off and found myself back at yard sales and flea markets with my dad, like I did as a kid, for the first time again in twenty years. I was amazed at the quality and style of vintage costume jewelry and was puzzled as to why there wasn’t a brand dedicated to making vintage jewelry cool again. So I re-launched Sweet & Spark in late 2012 as a curated vintage jewelry brand with my dad as head buyer! Together we travel around the country doing the dirty work. You can follow the thrill of our hunt (#sparkhuntin’) on Instagram (@sweetnspark).
